SET IP
Syntax
set ip ipaddress=ipaddress mask=subnetmask
gateway=ipaddress manager|1|2|3|4=ipaddress
Parameters
ipaddress Specifies an IP address for the multiplexer. An IP
address is required to manage the unit using
Telnet or an SNMP application program. An IP
address is not required for local management
through the RS232 port on the management
module. The multiplexer does not require an IP
address for normal network operations.
mask Specifies the subnet mask for the multiplexer. You
must specify a subnet mask if you manually
assigned the multiplexer an IP address.
gateway Specifies the IP address of the default gateway for
the multiplexer. The default gateway is required if
a remote management station is separated from
the multiplexer by a router.
manager Assigns a number (1 to 4) to the IP address of a
management workstation to be sent traps from
the multiplexer. To delete an IP address without
assigning a new one, enter 0.0.0.0 as the IP
address.
Description
This command configures the following multiplexer parameters:
❑ IP address
❑ Subnet mask
❑ Gateway address
This command is also used to specify the IP addresses of up to four
management workstations to receive management traps from the
multiplexer. In entering the command, you specify a number from 1 to 4
to be assigned to the IP address. For more information on the SNMP
traps, refer to SET SNMP TRAP on page 103.
